The First Thanksgiving

This Thursday is one of our favorite North American holidays: Thanksgiving. We enjoy the holiday not only because of the delicious food and getting to spend time with our families and friends, but also because it is a time that reminds us how lucky we are to have family and friends in our lives, to have work, to get to live and love for another year. We thought we would share a short 5 minute video that explains the history of the first Thanksgiving which took place many, many years ago and which started the tradition.

Watch the video here: The First Thanksgiving

You may wish to discuss in your classes what traditions and holidays are the most important in Costa Rica; or, which holidays you like the best. What parts of the story are the most interesting to you? Would you like to start celebrating Thanksgiving in your home? Why or why not?
